Why Change Feels So Hard (And What to Do About It)

Ever catch yourself thinking, “Wait…haven’t I been here before!”
You’re showing up differently, or you think so. You’ve set clear intentions. You’re working on your growth. Yet, the outcomes are still frustratingly familiar.

You defined your model of what change looks like. You envision more confidence, more energy, being more aligned with who you’re becoming. Then – bam – you’ve slipped back into old patterns. You blame your busy schedule. Your stress. Or the ten other things competing for your attention. You have made some tweaks, but the results you envisioned? Still not your reality.

Here’s a truth: change doesn’t just “happen”. It sticks when your actions align with who you want to become and you’re brave enough to release who you’ve been.

It takes focus. It takes practice. It takes consistency. That’s where most of us get tripped up. We make attempts, but we don’t stick with it long enough for full integration to happen.

A few years ago, I went to swim with wild dolphins in Bimini.
It wasn’t just a bucket list trip—it was a conscious choice to bring more play into my life.

Surrounded by the ocean. Immersed in nature. With others who craved the same sense of wonder and connection, change felt natural, even easy.

It happens when you step out of your routine.

When you attend a retreat, a workshop, or go on an adventure, you’re not just learning – you’re expanding. Your energy shifts. Your environment inspires. And suddenly, you believe in new possibilities… because you’re surrounded by others who do too.

Here’s the best part:
You don’t have to fly to Bimini to start making changes.
You can create powerful change right where you are.

5 Ways To Make Change Easier (and Stick)

What exactly are you changing? Your mindset? Your behaviours? Your presence?
Vague intentions = vague outcomes. Clarity sharpens your focus and fuels your momentum.

Yes, your surroundings matter. Shake things up. Take a new route to work. Rearrange your workspace. Visit a new coffee spot. Talk to someone new. Tiny shifts in your environment can lead to major shifts in your energy.

3. Find your people

Whether it’s a coach, a trainer, or a friend who holds you accountable – surround yourself with people who believe in you and your growth. You don’t have to do change alone. In fact, it can be way more enjoyable when you celebrate your wins with others.

4. say yes more often

When an opportunity excites you – or scares you just a little – lean in. Before you say no, pause. Ask: Am I afraid? Or is this truly not aligned with my growth? Sometimes, the best moves are the ones that stretch us most.

5. feed your mind with what lifts you up

Listen to what energizes you. Read what inspires you. Move your body. Laugh often.
Just as importantly, protect your energy. Turn down the noise that drains you. Peace of mind is a choice, too.

Real change doesn’t come from overhauling everything overnight.
It comes from small, intentional actions done consistently.

You don’t need a plane ticket or a big event to feel more alive, aligned, or grounded.
You simply need to begin. Pick one thing from the list above. Start there.
Do it today. Then again tomorrow. Let it become who you are.

Because those small actions?
They’re the seeds of the transformation you’re craving.

You’ve got this. 🌱
