The Client - Individual 

A VP of Corporate Finance based in Vancouver was interviewing for a Managing Director position at a Canadian Bank in Toronto. He knew he would be up against tough competition for this role and didn’t want to leave anything to chance. He was interested in making a strong, memorable impression with the executives and wanted to stand out from his competition.

The Solution

We worked together in identifying his personal leadership brand and establish how HE wanted to be perceived. After creating self awareness in what he wanted to project we debriefed a mock interview that was videotaped to review any disconnects between his non-verbal and verbal cues that didn’t support his brand. We looked at everything from the words he used, to his eye contact, to the cut of his suit, to his glasses, to his handshake to make sure he projected the strong, memorable impression he desired.

The Benefit

At the end of the day he felt confident about how he needed to position himself and the changes that he needed to make, both behaviourally and physically to create the right impression. He stated that some of the feedback was hard to hear though it was because of the work we did upfront that made the interview process seem effortless. When the interview process was complete, he was awarded the position.
