The Client
He was a Director for a college and President of an association. He wanted help in understanding why he was being passed over for promotion and lacked the ease in social situations even though he was very out going.
The Challenge
The initial conversation revealed that he lacked self confidence in who he was. He used cliques to break the ice in conversation which made him come across as insincere. He didn’t make eye contact when he engaged others in conversation. He was also chronically late.
The Accomplishments
The client embraced the process and took total responsibility in making the behavioural changes necessary to be more dynamic in the roles he played. Through exercises that were provided, his determination and the action he took got him noticed. He had greater self confidence in who he was, he was able to set boundaries, learned to deal with conflict, spoke from the heart and made direct eye contact when engaging with others in conversation. At the end of this he was offered a role that he was asked to define for himself. The changes were so significant during the coaching process I heard from the Sr VP at three different times to let me know how impressed he was with the changes he witnessed.
